MedtecLIVE is Europe's leading exhibition for the development and manufacture of medical technology and will take place from 5 to 7 May 2026. As part of a comprehensive family of brands, however, MedtecLIVE offers the industry more than just a exhibition and regularly creates opportunities for personal and digital exchange, as a look at this year and next year shows.

Three event formats with different focal points bring suppliers from the development and production of medical technology together with OEMs, distributors and other players in the medical technology community in Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Munich. The MedtecLIVE events and the digital platform are supported by the conceptual sponsors VDMA Healthtech, Bayern Innovativ Gesundheit and Swiss Medtech.

MedtecLIVE Innovation Expo: Innovation platform for medical technol­ogy

Exhibitors from Germany, Switzerland and the USA presented themselves at the MedtecLIVE Innovation Expo as part of MedtecSUMMIT in Nuremberg on 18 and 19 February. Leading manufacturers and developers met experts from industry, science, politics and medicine in close proximity to the extensive and international congress programme. The participating companies presented themselves at their stands and with presentations during the congress breaks. ‘The combination of knowledge transfer, product innovations and networking characterises the combination of the congress and MedtecLIVE Innovation Expo. I am delighted that we are offering innovators in the medical technology sector this special stage to present their products and services,’ explains Silke Ludwig, Deputy Director MedtecLIVE. Topics at the congress, which was organised by Bayern Innovativ GmbH on behalf of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, included clinical robotics, digital health applications, health data, artificial intelligence and innovations in biomaterials and intelligent implants. One of the unifying highlights was the state reception organised by the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy at the Imperial Castle in Nuremberg after the first day of the congress and exhibition.

Positive exhibitor feedback on the Innovation Expo

The concept, which focuses on intensive dialogue and know-how transfer between science, research and industry, was praised by the exhibitors at MedtecLIVE Innovation Expo: ‘For us, both formats offered an excellent opportunity to expand and strengthen our network. The journey from North Rhine-Westphalia was definitely worth it,’ said Dr Stephan Hüwel, Head of Sales and Marketing, Jüke Systemtechnik GmbH. Andreas Hellmann, Manager of Stüken Medical, drew the connection to MedtecLIVE, which will bring together the medical technology industry in Europe in Stuttgart in July 2026: ‘We were able to welcome the medical technology community from the DACH region to our stand at the MedtecLIVE Innovation Expo in Nuremberg. We feel just as at home here as we do at the international MedtecLIVE in Stuttgart. Overall, we are impressed by the customer-orientation of the MedtecLIVE team and their support in developing target groups at home and abroad.’

Healthtech Pavilion offers suppliers a new stage at automatica and Laser World of Photonics

From 24 to 27 June, the MedtecLIVE team will be presenting the MedtecLIVE Healthtech Pavilion for the first time, a joint stand at the renowned trade fair duo automatica and Laser World of Photonics in Munich. This will create an industry vertical for medical technology. Developers and suppliers will meet a target group focussing on automation, robotics and photonics. In addition to the MedtecLIVE Healthtech Pavilion, there will be a two-day MedtecSUMMIT organised by Bayern Innovativ.

MedtecLIVE 2026: European meeting place for the development and manufacture of medical technology in Stuttgart

MedtecLIVE, the leading trade fair for the development and manufacture of medical technology in Europe, will take place in Stuttgart from 5 to 7 May 2026. With the event location close to many medical technology suppliers, it offers OEMs and distributors a comprehensive market overview: the spectrum of participating companies ranges from international suppliers to many medium-sized companies and pioneering start-up innovations. ‘Every two years, MedtecLIVE covers the entire value chain of materials, components, services and processes for the medical technology industry.
